PROFILE

How do I add my profile in a free or a paid service?
To add your profile, click on the Register me link. Give all the necessary and optional details asked for in the form. After you submit your information, your profile will be processed.

How do I modify my profile information?
Login using your "username" and go to the Features link and select the "Edit Profile" option. Make the changes in your profile.

I am a free service member. How do I upgrade to paid service?
Login from the home page and click on the 'Become a Paid Member' button flashing on the page.You can pay both by credit card or by cheque/draft. A cash option will be introduced shortly.

How do I view a particular profile?
Select the Matrimony id search option and enter the "username" of the profile. This shall enable you to view the details of that profile.

What is "Top Placement"?
This is a unique feature that makes your profile appear on top of the search results. Login frequently so that your profile automatically stays on top of the search list. This feature is available only for paid members.

How can I improve my chances of finding a match?
• Try to give a clear self-description.
• Enter your expectations clearly and completely.
• Add your photo to your profile as profiles with photos get a better response.
• Become a paid member and login often to make your profile stay on the top of the search results display.
• Login often to search through the latest profiles and initiate contact.
• Set "E-Match" to automatically receive new matching profiles through e-mail.

How do I remove my profile?
Login using your "Username and Password" and go to the 'Features' link at the top of the page and select the "Delete Profile" option. State the reason for deletion and click on the "Delete Profile" button to remove your profile from our members list.


INITIATING CONTACT

How can I contact the other members?
Search through our voluminous member base using the "Search Profiles" option. When you wish to contact a profile, click on the Contact this profile option below every profile to send a message to that member. Paid members have an advantage as only they are permitted to use this option.

I did not receive any response for my profile?
On the average, around 1% of the profiles were entered with a misspelt e-mail address. If you have not received any e-mail from our system, please login using your "Username" and "Password" on the home page and click on the Modify Profile option in the Features link to correct the e-mail address.

What is E- Match?
E- Match is a feature that helps you define your ideal spouse and set your suitability criteria. You will be intimated by e-mail regularly about new profiles matching your criteria. This shall enable you to receive continual responses suiting you.

How do I use the E-Match feature?
• Login from the home page and select the "Advance search" option. • Set your criteria and click on E- Match' button. This will enable your E- Match feature. Once this is done, an e-mail will be automatically sent to you, whenever a new profile that matches the E- Match criteria, is added.

What is Astromatch?
Astromatch is a unique horoscope-matching program that is found only on Astromatrimony. Not only do we match your profile through our E-Match facility, but we also provide a complete Kundli Matching with each profile that you wish to astrologically check for compatibility. This is a paid service.

What are the advantages of Astromatch?
While E-Match will help you find profiles that match your own partner profile…how do you really know if you are a compatible match. One way of course is to meet; but Astromatch gives you a head start in finding out whether life long compatibility exists or not through Vedic astrology using the Gun Milap method of matching two kundlis..

Where do I enter my expectations of an alliance?
At the time of registration all you have to do is fill in your expectations in the 'Partner profile' box provided at the bottom. Try to be specific, as a good description will yield good results. Don't add your e-mail id or website address in your description field.

How do I bookmark profiles?
When you search the profiles and find a matching profile, click on the "Bookmark this profile" option. This shall add the profile to your list of bookmarked profiles. The image will be displayed before the Bookmarked profile(s) during your Search and View displays, to indicate that you have bookmarked this profile.

How do I ignore profiles?
When you search the profiles, and find a profile unsuitable to you, you can click on the "Ignore this profile" option. The image will be displayed before the Ignored profile(s) during your Search and View options, to indicate that you have ignored the profile.

How do I edit bookmarked profiles?
Login using your "Username and Password" and select the Edit Bookmark option. Add or delete profiles bookmarked and click 'Update Bookmarks' button.

How do I view the protected photo?
To view a protected photo, you need to have the password of that particular photo. To get the password you can communicate with the person holding the profile. State your reasons and request for the photo password.

How do I edit ignored profiles?
• Login using your "username and Password" and select the Edit Ignored List option.
• Add or delete ignored profiles and click on the "Update Ignored List" button.

Search is not getting any results. What should I do?
Please check your search criteria. If you are searching for a particular caste, try rephrasing your spellings. We also recommend that you not be too restrictive about areas that are not critical to you, and may restrict your choice.

My credit / debit card authorization failed. What should I do?
Make sure you are entering the correct credit / debit / net-banking card number and expiry date. If you continue having problems, please call your credit / debit issuing bank and make sure your card has sufficient funds.Check out other Payment Options to upgrade your profile to paid service.

What is an Astrosilver Membership?
Astrosilver Membership is a type of paid membership scheme that entitles you to contact members, maintain a response log and match your kundli with the desired profile or person.This package entitles you to use these facilities for six months.

What is an Astrogold Membership?
Astrogold Membership is a type of paid membership scheme that entitles you to contact members, maintain a response log and match your kundli with the desired profile or person.This package entitles you to use these facilities for six months. There is a savings of Rs.250 each time you become an Astrogold member.

What is the difference between Astrosilver Membership and Astrogold Membership?
In the Astrosilver Paid Membership scheme, the member is allowed to contact members, maintain his response log and match his kundli with others for three months.In the Astrogold Paid Membership scheme, the member is allowed to contact members, maintain his response log and match his kundli with others for six months. While an Astrosilver membership costs Rs.500 or US20$, an Astrogold membership costs. Rs.750 or US30$..


PHOTOS

I do not have a scanner but want my photograph to appear with my profile. What should I do?
Most good cyber cafes usually have a scanning facility from where you can scan your photograph and upload it. However 
incase this is not possible  kindly mail your photograph with your "Username & Password" mentioned at the back to:

How do I add a photo to my profile?

Login using your "Username" and "Password" from the home page. Go the the 'Features link' page, select the "Upload Photo" option. To add your photo, click the 'Browse' button and select the digital photograph (scanned photograph in jpg /gif format) to be included. Click "Add Photo" to include your photo in the profile.

Are there any special tips & tricks to make my digital photo look good?
Sure! There are 3 steps involved in making your photograph look good on the Internet.

  1. Selection: Selecting the right photograph involves many things. Firstly, select a photograph that is bright and colourful. Photographs in general tend to become darker when seen on the computer which is why night time photographs don't show up as well. Select a photograph that is preferably taken outdoors, in the natural light. Also, if possible select a close up or full view snap. Try not to choose a group photograph where you are only a small part of the whole photo! Finally, choose the photo that most resembles the person you are.
  2. Enhancement: Once you have selected and scanned your photograph you can further enhance it using Image Enhancing softwares like Adobe PhotoShop or Corel Photopaint. This is for the trained professional only so ask someone who is trained in the above to help you out. Working with even simple functions like brightness, contrast, hue and saturation can make a big difference to your photo!
  3. Optimisation: Finally, make sure you save your enhanced matrimonial photograph as a .jpg or .gif file. These file formats are web-friendly and reduce the file size considerably. Having a small file size is important so that it loads quickly on the Internet. If you have a very large photograph it may take very long to download and visitors may get tired of waiting.

While uploading my photograph, I saw two options called .JPG and .GIF. What do they mean?
JPG and GIF are two of the most popular digital image formats on the internet. Astromatrimony accepts only these two image formats for attaching to your matrimonial profile. Check the format of your digital photo and select the correct option.

I got an error while uploading my photograph. What could be the reason?
One of the reasons for the error might be that you did not select the JPG or GIF option. You must choose the correct option. Digital photo files that are more than 200KB in size are not accepted. Your photo file must be in either JPG or GIF format.

I uploaded my photo but it is still not visible in my profile. Why?
Astromatrimony reviews all photographs uploaded by members. While we allow members the ability to upload their photographs, we reserve the right to remove/delete any photograph that violates socially accepted norms of decency and/or contains any form of nudity. This may even include beach photographs of our members. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you appreciate our efforts for protecting our members.

It is possible that there was some technical error/problem at the time of uploading the photograph. In which case we request that you try the same procedure once again.

I don't want everyone to see my photograph, what should I do?
To ensure your privacy, you can protect your photo or horoscope with a password. You can give the Password to the prospective alliances upon communication.
• Login using your " username and Password" from the home page and go to My Account..
• Select the "Protect Photo " option.
• In the "Protect Photo" section click on the "Yes" button for the aspect you would like to protect.
• Enter your photo password (different from profile password) and re-enter it for confirmation.
• Click Protect Photo


ACCESS PROBLEMS

I'm already logged in, but I get a message "You must login prior to using the matrimonial services". What should I do?
I forgot my password. What should I do?

Click on the Forgot Password link in the home page and enter your "username". Your "password" will be e-mailed to you immediately.

I want to change my password. How can I do it?
• Login with your "username and Password".
• Click on "Change Password" in the list of options displayed to change the profile password.
• The details you had submitted while adding your profile are displayed. In the fields - "Choose New Password" and "Confirm New Password", replace your existing password with your new password and click on "Change Password" button.
Your new password is activated. The next time you log on to your page, you will have to use the new password.

Why am I not able to login or why is the message "username or Incorrect Password" being displayed ?
• The password you have entered might be wrong. Alternatively you might be having the CAPS LOCK "On". Please check up the case of the "username or Password".
• If you have forgotten your Password, please click on the Forgot Password option to retrieve the same.

How do I add my success story?

If your marriage has been arranged through our service and you want to share your success story with us, then write to us at astromatrimony@astroyogi.com with 'Success Story' as the subject line for us to add it onto our site. Your success story is our key motivation.

How do I contact customer support?
